BUS
On Curaçao, you can use the local bus service. Buses run once an hour from Monday to Friday. Weekend schedules differ. The nearest bus stop is located opposite the Green Leaf shop (Liang Minimarket) on the road to Fuik. It is 1.9 km from the resort.
COOLER
There is a cooler available, and ice packs can be found in the refrigerator's freezer compartment. You can take the cooler to beaches that lack dining facilities, or use it when going grocery shopping.
CUPBOARD OUTSIDE BY THE STUDIO
There is a cupboard containing books, board games, snorkeling gear, etc., for your use. Please treat these items with care and put them back neatly when you are finished using them. P.S.: If you haven't finished reading a book, feel free to take it home with you.
DAMAGE
If anything gets broken due to your actions, please report it to us. We will then determine whether you are liable for the cost.
ELECTRICITY
The accommodations are equipped with 220V power and European-style sockets. Electricity and water are very expensive on Curaçao, so we ask that you use them responsibly. We now have battery storage for the electricity generated by our solar panels. In the event of a power outage, the accommodations switch to battery power (normally, they do not run on solar energy). If an outage occurs at night, we ask that you turn off the air conditioning until the power returns, in order to conserve the stored energy. You are, of course, welcome to keep the fan running.
GATE
You will be provided with a remote control for the gate. We charge Xcg 150.00/ € 75 / $ 84 if the remote and/or key is lost, or if the remote is damaged and ceases to function.
Please note: We have no control over the price changes of the remotes.
KITCHEN, HAND, BATH, AND BEACH TOWELS
Kitchen and bath towels may be changed daily. It is not required; do whatever you find most comfortable. To do this, place the laundry basket containing dirty towels by the stairs in the parking area during the morning hours. We will replace them with clean towels (max. once daily).
PLEASE NOTE: Beach towels are changed once a week along with the bed linen! You can let them dry on the designated drying rack for reuse.
If you wish to have them changed in between scheduled times, we charge Xcg 3.10 / €1.50 / $ 1,75 per towel per exchange.
LAUNDRY
We can handle your laundry for Xcg 10.50 / €5.00 / $ 5,75 per load. You can air-dry the laundry yourself on the drying rack provided at your apartment or studio. Alternatively, you can use a laundromat; there are many to be found on the island. We have had a good experience with the ‘Het Wasje’ laundromat at Sta Rosaweg 107E, but there is also one very close by at Caracasbaaiweg 360-362.
MOSQUITOES
Effective repellents are available at the local pharmacy (*Botica*). We have had good experiences with Buzz Aloe and Off! For itching, we recommend Vicks VapoRub; mosquitoes also dislike this scent.
OUR PETS
We have a dog, a cat, and eight tortoises.
Emma (a Rottweiler) does not come onto the resort grounds. Our cat, Shiva, occasionally wanders around the resort.
Emma is fearful and can appear aggressive; it is best not to pay her any attention.
Lila, Skinny, Greeny, Roosje, Orange, Zilver, Blue, and Chery are our tortoises; they live under the palm fronds in the garden enclosure near the resort entrance.
